Zasnovanost kritika globalizacije Iz ugla nacionalne države

The aim of this paper is to discuss the credibility of criticism ofglobalization from the point of view of the nation-state. The mainbody of this paper consists of three sections. The first section analyses criticism of the political aspect of globalization; the second givesspecial attention to criticism of the economic aspect of globalization; the third deals with criticism of cultural globalization. The initialhypothesis is that globalization is characterized, often unfairly, as atrend which has negative consequences for the nature of the nation-state. This paper is intended as a response to criticisms from authorsclaiming that globalization reduces state sovereignty, is an instru-ment of the new economic imperialism, and that the very act of glob-alization amounts to standardization and cultural homogenization.

The Concept Of Security Sector Reform

Although it is theoretically uncompleted, the concept of secu-rity sector reform is of huge practical importance since it is used as an indicator of success when assessing broader processes of social transformation. Divergence Of The Eu And Russian Security Policies: The Case Of Independence Of Kosovo And The Link With The “frozen Conflicts” In Moldova And Georgia

The paper elaborates on the link between Kosovo and the “frozen-conflicts” in Moldova and Georgia and addresses the difference between the EU and Russian approaches to secessionist movements in their neighborhoods. The research was conducted in spring 2008 and did not include the war in Georgia of August 2008. Nevertheless, a retroactive view provides additional verification of the research con-clusions and indicates that some aspects of the eruption of violence in Georgia could have been predicted. After an introduction, the paper briefly presents the central issue and the overall EU-Russia security relations. Subsequent parts provide a comprehensive analysis of the respective conflicts and the involvement of the EU and Russia. The conclusions put forward, amongst other, the propositions on: diver-gence of the EU-Russia security and foreign policies, a possible chain reaction of the Kosovo independence in the post-soviet sphere, and eventual broader implications on the general EU-Russia relations and the regional security.

Batı Trakya bölgesinde yaşayan Müslüman Türk azınlığının sorunları Türk-Yunan ilişkileri açısından geçmişten günümüze çeşitli gerilimlere sebep olmuştur. Türk ve Yunan taraflarının o bölgede yaşayan azınlıkların haklarıyla ilgili geçerli saydıkları antlaşmalar farklıdır. Yunan tarafı 1923 Lozan Antlaşması’nı azınlık hakları konusunda geçerli sayarken, Türk tarafı daha önce yapılmış olan 1920 Yunan Sevri ve 1913 Antlaşması’na bağlı III No’lu protokolün azınlıklar konusunda geçerliliğini koruduğunu iddia etmektedir. 2000’li yıllarda Türkiye, bölgeyle ilgili daha aktif bir dış politika çizgisi izlemeye başlamıştır. 2015 Yunanistan Genel Seçimi sonuçları da bölgede yaşayan Müslüman Türk azınlık açısından olumlu karşılanmıştır. Bununla beraber eğitim alanıyla birlikte toplumsal, siyasal ve ekonomik alanlarda kronikleşmiş birçok sorun bölgede hâlâ çözüm beklemektedir. The problems of the Turkish Muslim minority in Western Thrace have led Turkish-Greek relations through a variety of tumultuous ruptures in the past. Today both countries still recognize different treaties stipulating the rights of minorities living in the region. While the Greek side currently points to the articles of the 1923 Treaty of Lausanne on minority rights, the Turkish side, on the other hand, contends that the articles of the 1920 Treaty of Sevres and article no. 3 of the 1913 Agreement remain valid. Such a dynamic has been influenced by Turkey’s development of a more active foreign policy towards the region in the 2000s. This context also saw the 2015 General Election results in Greece welcomed by the Turkish Muslim minority living in Western Thrace. Nevertheless, educational, social, political and economic problems are still awaiting resolutions in the region.

Tekst przedstawia zagadnienia związane ze współczesnymi miejscami pamięci. Autor analizuje symbolikę pomników i memoriałów, w których osią upamiętnienia jest „przejście”, brama, szczelina. Pyta o intencje twórców takich miejsc pamięci i podkreśla, że są one nie tylko reprezentacją przeszłości. Zdobywając status symbolu, wyraźnie wpływają na zbiorową wyobraźnię. Nie tylko pielęgnują wspomnienia, ale też odgrywają ważną rolę w budowaniu mostów między przeszłością a teraźniejszością. Wspierają edukację obywatelską i kształtują postawy społeczne.
